She is super cute when she is sleeping. Of course, I still enjoy her when she is up, and she is going nuts. Even when she picked up her pee soaked tissue from a toilet bowl with an evil laugh….

寝ているときは本当にかわいい。もちろん、起きている間も。たとえ、オシッコした後に濡れたティッシュをトイレからつまみ上げ、高笑いしてたとしても・・・

Amalie said "Amalie type blog", so that was it. In addition, we get mysterious objects everyday. The top picture is a present she just decided to wrap by herself, and the second picture is her princess pearl necklace and bracelet hanging off a hook by our front door.

Carnival

海璃の幼稚園やアクティビティ、お家増築、それに伴う市の立ち入り検査に加えて、毎週の針とお医者様と検査、そしてストレスが大きな要因らしく、ヨガも週２で通い始め、挙句にはメディテーションの音楽まで聴いたり・・・分刻みの生活です。今週は特に忙しいと思いながらの数ヶ月、いい加減この日常に慣れなければ。

さて、そんな中近くの小学校であったカーニバルに行ってきました。写真は恐怖に立ち向かう海璃。涙目を浮かべながら、三回も繰り返し行った超急勾配な滑り台。私とは全く違う性質でうれしい。私が小さい頃、後楽園プールの巨大滑り台をものすごく楽しみに上まで行ったのはいいけど、どうしようもない恐怖に打ち勝てず、ぎゅうぎゅうの長陀の列を泣きながら逆流したのです。後で、滑ってきた弟や従妹がはしゃいでいるのを見てとても後悔したりして。今でも後悔。こんなに目を剥いてまで滑ってくる我が子が素敵でした。ところで、今日のお祭り決算。保護者が支払ってあげなければ・・・な入場料でした。日本の小学校のお祭りだったら使っていいお金が決められていたりして、子供達だけで楽しめるのだろうなぁ。いい教育を保つための寄付金なのだろうから気持ちのいい出費ですが、公立の学校もほとんど私立化していて、地域によって全く違う教育水準です。ここの学区に通わせるために、なにがなんでも引越しできない私達。海璃に出来る限りいい教育をと願う私は教育ママに突入、ってところでしょうか。あぁ、日本語もおしえなきゃ。

On top of household chores, Amalie's care giver tasks, home addition work and city inspections, I have a couple appointments with doctors and yoga classes every week...I just have to be used to this life style. hoodoo. Sounds like I am turning to a green hippy, but I have discovered that listening to meditation music helps.

Well, the pictures are from the Hallinan school carnival. Amalie went on this very big and steep slide three times while half crying. I'm amazed by how brave she is. When I was little, I went to the biggest water slide in the city. I was so excited until I went to the top, and then I couldn't get over my fear, and I u-turned against hundreds of people in a line. I cried the rest of the day regretting it. I am still a wimp in that way, but I'm glad Amalie is so different than me. Anyways, I really like this school. It probably is supported by all fundraising and donations to keep good education. I hope that Amalie gets the best with what we can.

DNA

いっしょにガーデニングをしていたはずの海璃が、一心不乱にお絵かきをしていました。その姿は3歳の頃の私？彼女の物を作ったり描いたりするときの無我夢中さもまるで私。どんどん発達していく中で遺伝を感じる事が多くなってきました。将来はアーティストよりもビジネスウーマンになって欲しいんだけどなぁ・・・

Is this me at the age of 3? Amalie's concentration of working on artwork is really similar to mine. As she develops everyday, I feel she has my DNA more often these days. I am wishing she can become a high powered business woman rather than an artist......

Go Grandpas!

We started going to a fitness gym. Every time I go there while Amalie is in pre-school, I see three senior guys (maybe in their late 80s or early 90s). I was shocked to see one of them just in front of me on the treadmill wearing a flannel shirt and denim pants with suspenders. They can't really move. However, I see one of them is always lifting huge weights super fast. Then, last week, they were surrounding a very athletic looking young African-American guy who was working so hard. They stood really close, and shouting at the young guy, "Good job!", "Keep going" "Excellent". This poor guy was totally ignoring them, and working out so serious. How could he not laugh? Anyway, they are so entertaining. I was very intimidated by all those fit & good looking gym professionals, but I am a little more comfortable being there now, as well as I am jealous of their friendship and ability to do gym work at their age. I can't take my eyes off from their movements.


海璃といっしょに公園で遊びながら走るのも（子供と半径５ｍ以上離れるなとかいうバアサンが出没したりして）雨降りのお天気にも限界を感じて、スポーツジムに通い始めました。皆様ウェアから極まっていらして、よく見ているとお年を召した方の方が軽々とマシーンもこなしていらして、始めはとても躊躇しましたが、やっと慣れてきました。海璃もいっしょに加入したので、いっしょに行くときはデイケアに預かってもらっています。それが、とっても楽しみなんだそう。週末はライアンといっしょにプールの如く大きいジャクジーでおおはしゃぎ。夏は子供達のスイミングレッスンもあるそうなので、夏休みに丁度いいかな、と。

で、幼稚園に送ってから直行するといつもいらっしゃる80歳は越えているであろうと思われるおじいさん3人組。ネルシャツ、そしてデニムパンツにサスペンダーといったまるで普段着のまま、トレッドミルでテクテク歩き、マシーンを降りたら３人そろって支えあいながら移動。かと思えば、それは、それは大きなバーベルをわっしょわっしょと持ち上げていたり。この間は、いかにもアスリートなアフリカンアメリカンのお兄さんのトレーニングを囲んで気合をかけていらっしゃったり、もう、とってもエンターテイメント。目が離せません。
