Poodle to piggy.

If you are curious why there are so many piggies in my blog, it is because Amalie is in love with pigs.  The first stuffed animal she loved was not a teddy bear, bunny or kitten.  The only things she ever wants are piggies.  She has this cute pink poodle Pillow Pet, but what she really wants is the pink piggy one. Every time we pass through the Pillow Pet section at the store, she of course wants me to buy the pink piggy one, and it comes with a price tag of $29.99.  Since I'm living in bed for a while (as a pneumonia patient), I put my courage together to perform surgery on the pink poodle.

アマリのブタちゃん好き、いつから始まったんだろう。お友達にいただいた御本に『ぶーさんのブー』っていう本があって、生後半年くらいから読み聞かせて、気がついたら何でもブタちゃん。テディベアでもなく、ウサギさんでもなく、ぶたちゃん。お誕生日パーティーのピニャータ、ハロウィーン、持ってる絵本も、お手紙セットも、おもちゃも、全てが気持ちよくブタちゃん。
そして、これ、義母に頂いたプードルのピローペット。下にマジックテープがついていて、閉じるとクッション、開けるとひざ掛けみたいな物です。最近、売り場を通る度にブタちゃんのピローペットが欲しいとせがまれているけど、お値段は３０ドル。「何個あっても仕方ないし、プードルもかわいいよ。」と何とかなだめてきたのですが、「じゃあママ、ブタちゃんにして。チクチクしてぇ。」ときたので、やってみました。大手術。お家で静養中（肺炎ってすぐに元気にはなれないんですねぇ。）なので、丁度いい。

勇気がいるけど、耳、鼻、尻尾の一部を切り落とします。

 

The white hair is tucked in.  It's like a face lift.  The ears are shaped like a triangle, and attached up side down, then the pig nose is attached.  The tail is curled like a pig's tail.

耳はさかさまにして、三角になる様に綴じておきます。白い頭を内側に縫いこむと同時に耳も縫いこみます。顔面整形みたい。ブタの鼻を作って縫い付けます。尻尾も切ったところを綴じて、くるりんと形を整えて縫い付けます。

It definitely got uglier, but Amalie is happy that it is a pink piggy.  I'm happy to save $30.  Mission accomplished.

ちょっとヘンテコリンです。でも、アマリは喜んでくれたし、私も30ドル節約できたー。でっきあがりー。
