Somewhere in my heart, I was always thinking this might be the last memory for my family being with me whenever we do something. However, this time was different. We enjoyed this trip so much. It was one of the most memorable and fun vacation we ever had.
春休みの続き。
今までは、心の底でこれが最後の思い出かも、と思いながら何かをしていたのですけど、今回は初めて病気の事は抜きに思いっきり楽しんできました。すぐに疲れてフラフラだったんだけど、幸せ春休みでした。自分の写真はとっても嫌なんですけど、一枚、夫が撮ってくれました。
ポートランドから車で3時間、セントラルオレゴンにあるベンドに行って来ました。
行きは南の方から。渓流や湖、ダムを眺めながら、こんな景色 に出会いました。グレーとブルーの世界。きれいだけど、本当は山火事の後です。
ホテルにチェックインしたら、すぐに釣り。
何にも釣れないどころか、夫、張り切りすぎて川に落ちそうになったり、ルアーセットが流れちゃったり、引っかかってしまったブッシュと格闘したり、子供達そっちのけで目に余る父親像でした＾＾
As soon as we checked in to the hotel, we walked down to the Deschutes River. Of course, we couldn't catch anything, but it was fun watching Ryan almost fall into the river, his fishing set almost washed away, and he ended up fighting with a big bush. Nice father figure!
I get exhausted really easy, so after 5 minutes or so, I went back to the room, and I enjoyed a nap in front of the fire place.
ビーバーのしわざ？木を倒してしまうなんてすごいな。
What is this? When I spotted this on the other side of the river, I had to look twice, and almost grabbed our kids to evacuate. I bet this is the most effective scarecrow for ducks. Is this real taxidermy? coyote? wolf? dog?
向こう岸に、こんな物を発見。
二度見した後、思わず子供達をつかんで避難しそうになりました。
これ、何？コヨーテ？オオカミ？犬？剥製なの？鳥除けなのかな？吊るされていました。
夕方、ベンドの街をお散歩して、
ここで夜ごはん。
McMenamins。 1936年に建ったカトリックの学校がそのままレストランやホテルになっています。
We ate at McMenamins.
And, we found this Portland Ketchup. It was thick, very tomatoey, and almost tasted like a real vegetable. I loved this ketchup. Is it possible to make my own like this?
そこで発見したのが、ポートランド産のケチャップ。
今まで食べたケチャップの中で、一番おいしいケチャップでした。こんなケチャップ作れないかな？
ホテルに帰って、プールで遊んで、バタンキュー。
次の日も、朝からプール。 大人はお部屋でゆっくりがいいなぁ、と思いながらも、子供たちは朝から元気。でも楽しそうだから、ま、いいか。
This is Lava River Cave. Unfortunately, it was closed for bat habitation during the winter.
お昼前に、行ってみたかったのが溶岩でできた洞窟。
でも、残念なことに冬の間はコウモリさんのために入れませんでした。自然は守らないと、ですね。
帰り道は北から。Mt.Hoodを通って帰ってきました。
もちろん寄り道して、今年最後の雪遊び。
On the way heading to Central Oregon, we took the south root, then on the way coming back, we passed by Mt. Hood. We had to play while we were there.
Amalie loves snow and sledding, but snow is not for Luther. He is scared of speed, and he doesn't like to get cold. He stood there for at least 30 min or so... like usual...
でもですね、雪が大好きなアマリと正反対に、雪が苦手なルーサー。
こうやって、30分ほどはイヤイヤ突っ立っていました。毎回ですね＾＾
Then, all of a sudden, he started throwing snow at everyone with an evil laugh.
それでも、しばらくすると山から下りてきて、みんなに雪を投げつけてごきげん。

おおっ。気をつけて。後ろから来たよ。
ついに、やられてしまった・・・悪の手ですね。
これは・・・。どうかな。
夕方の森がとてもきれいで。
木の質感。ふんわり緑。静寂な世界。
My favorite color palette. whitish grey, beige, moss green, mocha, icy mint...ah, beautiful.
It was nothing like a tropical island vacation or a luxury spa & golf with five star cuisine, but it was sooo fun!
I hope you had a nice spring break.
とても地味な小旅行でした。でも、最初から最後まで本当に楽しかったな。
